Hermes Press, publisher of the vintage Dark Shadows comic books, will host the only Dark Shadows panel at the New York Comic Con (in the Jacob Javits Center) on Saturday, October 15. Come and sink your teeth into the latest news and announcements regarding the upcoming Tim Burton and Johnny Depp Dark Shadows film, the Hermes Press reprint series of classic Dark Shadows, and also meet two of the stars from the original television series.
As Hermes Press gears up to present future Dark Shadows library editions (you’ll have to show up to learn which), stars Lara Parker (Angelique) and Kathryn Leigh Scott (Maggie Evans and Josette du Pres, as well as author of The Playboy Years, the book the television show The Playboy Club was based on) will share their memories of starring in the show that truly made vampires and werewolves sexy. Along with the Q and A, there will be some surprises regarding the blockbuster film slated for a May 2012 release.
Hermes Press has so far digitally remastered and reprinted two hardcover library volumes of the original Dark Shadows comics from the 1970s, as well as the Dark Shadows Story Digest illustrated novel. Their acclaimed line will grow next year, and publisher Dan Herman will be on hand to reveal the future of the Dark Shadows reprints.
The Dark Shadows panel will be from 1:15 to 2:15 on Saturday, October 15th in room 1A23. Kathryn Leigh Scott will be signing at Hermes Press’ booth (#1903) from: 11-4 on Thursday and Friday, and 11-12 and from 2:30-4 on Saturday.
